[Voice//Video] Two-for-one!

[Backdated to Thursday afternoon / Voice / 20% filtered from Claire Farron (good thing she wouldn't know how to hack anyway)]

Say, does anyone know a Claire?

Oh, and Zack? Need to hear from you. I promise I won't laugh at you being ridiculously shorter than me for once~ [So. He might. But just a little, honest!]

[TODAY / Video]

Whoa--whoa!

[Contrary to the icon, that voice sounds like Aerith's normal, female voice, if rather startled...and distant. Right now, the video only shows the fairly blank wall of Aerith's room in building 4. There's a pause, some water running, and then one door down the hallway opens and closes and the door to her room opens. She comes over to the journal immediately, looking over it to turn it on before realizing it already is.]

That's funny. A little too funny! (Why is it turning itself on?! And right after I changed back...in the bathroom. Thank goodness it couldn't catch that.)

[...Aerith is completely unaware that her second effect began nearly as soon as the first ended. So, unaware of what's broadcasting, she simply puts on a smile after a few seconds.]

...All right! I think everything's back to normal for me. So that's an experiment. Well, I've never cared for them much before, and I sure don't now! Changing minds and bodies like it's nothing... the Malnosso are creeps. (But that's so scary. Everything I remember changed.)

Well... I won't let them get to me. [She gives a firm nod, even if there's a touch of uncertainty in her expression.] Is anyone else back to normal? These last for about a week, right? Mm, I'm glad to be female again. I think I'm much cuter this way~

Oh, Claire! [Oh, shoot, now she has to explain that she isn't really a guy, maybe she should have mentioned that before.]

[ Uhhhh... no, she suddenly turns alarmed but serious, taking a step back. She will throw that toast, okay. ]

[...Well, she's definitely glad that Claire doesn't have anything harder than toast in her hands, but she still puts up her hands placatingly--much as she did when Cloud mistook her guy self for an intruder.]

[Say hello to thought bubbles, Claire. They're hovering above Aerith's head.]

Hey...? It's okay, I'm not going to do anything.

I'm Aerith. I know, I look a little different right now, don't I? Like how you look different for now.

[ Wow, is this conversation familiar or what? But she does relax, slightly. Geez though, she thought she was going to have to throw overcooked bread at you and everything. ]

Mhm. I'm really a girl. Here's hoping I don't change back!

...Is that what you're having for lunch?

You were really a girl this whole time?

[ Okay, but. Weird. No comment on the thought bubble for now. She looks down at the question. ]

Yeah. Why?

That's never going to fill you up. You're a growing girl! [With a grown man's stomach.] Let's find something to add to that.

[As she moves to go to the kitchen, she adds:] ...I was. See? I changed back, so you and Zack will definitely change back to normal soon.

Mm...

[ Well, it's really only a matter of time before it comes out completely. Even as an adult, 'Claire' can barely eat a good deal of the food here- most of it is just too strong-tasting, for some reason. As a kid it's... even worse, of course.

It's how in the world to deal with that that's on her mind as she follows Aerith reluctantly, and she eats some of the toast as she stares at the thought bubble hanging over the woman's head. What is that? ]

What things will be like...? Oh, I'll be glad, then. Zack probably will too...

[She pauses, looking back at Claire with a funny expression.] Hey...are you reading my mind or something?

Mind reading isn't...

[ "...possible." Thoughtful pause. ]

Can Zack read minds?

[She laughs and shakes her head.] I might get in trouble if he could.

Oh, yeah, maybe.

[ Kind of relieved, kind of disappointed here. ]

I can't either, though.

Hmmm. I guess mind reading is out of the question, then. [Not that Aerith was seriously expecting a yes, so she just goes on business as normal, opening the fridge and trying to find what a little girl's taste buds might like. She's noticed Claire's a bit picky, though she probably doesn't realize at all how much yet.]

[ Yeah, she's a few years short of some of the crazy stuff she learns to do later on. For now she just falls silent, though she continues to watch Aerith with a slightly dubious expression that... might as well be from her normal and full-grown self. She's still not sure about how Aerith's suddenly a she, or what was up with the thing she just saw. ]

[Aerith doesn't see that expression, still trying to get ideas for little Claire/Lightning's lunch. ...In fact, it even starts popping up in her head as she looks at food: the idea of a grilled cheese sandwich, apples, milk, bananas, would Claire like yogurt...? The images flit in and out quickly, but are easy enough to distinguish for anyone who's seen those foods before.]

[ Even more staring as she finishes off the toast from before, especially when the silly things come back, now with pictures of things Claire is both familiar and unfamiliar with.

Dude, maybe Zack can... read minds and just never told Aerith? But that doesn't explain why it only started just now. Maybe it took some time for her to get the hang of it?

... Maybe he can only read women's minds. HOLY CIE'TH. Should she say something?! ]

Uh... Aerith. Can you... see those?

[ Point. ]

[Aerith looks at Claire. Then looks up at where she's pointing. Of course, by this time, she's no longer thinking about lunch, so those thought bubbles have disappeared.]

[Her confusion mounting and mounting as it gets looped back to her, that last one looks ready to burst the thought bubble it's in. But then with a flashback to Buffy's thought bubbles (fortunately Aerith does not think of when Buffy accidentally showed her their kiss), she realizes what's going on.]

...Oh, those dirty jerks!

[Her thought bubble agrees.]

...I'm sure you've seen by now that this place can be pretty weird. [Even if Claire hasn't been watching the journals...there's people singing and teleporting to random places.]

[ Hey, even if Aerith and whoever else tried to shelter her completely, that would be kind of hard to miss. She's far from stupid too... she can tell she doesn't have the whole picture. She crosses her arms. ]

Even... Phoenix seems kind of weird, here.
