Oh, and Zack? Need to hear from you. I promise I won't laugh at you being ridiculously shorter than me for once~ [So. He might. But just a little, honest!]

Whoa--whoa!

[Contrary to the icon, that voice sounds like Aerith's normal, female voice, if rather startled...and distant. Right now, the video only shows the fairly blank wall of Aerith's room in building 4. There's a pause, some water running, and then one door down the hallway opens and closes and the door to her room opens. She comes over to the journal immediately, looking over it to turn it on before realizing it already is.]

That's funny. A little too funny! (Why is it turning itself on?! And right after I changed back...in the bathroom. Thank goodness it couldn't catch that.)

[...Aerith is completely unaware that her second effect began nearly as soon as the first ended. So, unaware of what's broadcasting, she simply puts on a smile after a few seconds.]

...All right! I think everything's back to normal for me. So that's an experiment. Well, I've never cared for them much before, and I sure don't now! Changing minds and bodies like it's nothing... the Malnosso are creeps. (But that's so scary. Everything I remember changed.)

Well... I won't let them get to me. [She gives a firm nod, even if there's a touch of uncertainty in her expression.] Is anyone else back to normal? These last for about a week, right? Mm, I'm glad to be female again. I think I'm much cuter this way~

What? It's not a bird, it's a fal'Cie! Are you sure you're not thinking about...

[ She trails off into confused silence. No no no, Eidolons are a l'Cie thing, and there hasn't been a Cocoon l'Cie in centuries, right? Not since the War.

And on top of everything, she has no idea what's going on, is in the wrong body, people are saying weird things... she just... shuts down suddenly, quickly approaching tears. ]

[Oh. Okay that definitely isn't a good reaction. Aerith automatically closes the fridge, taking a few steps to Claire as she looks up at her expression in Zack's face.]

No, I'm sorry, Claire. Can you tell me what's wrong, please? I didn't mean to upset you, but I don't know what a fal'Cie is.

[ It was hard enough for Lightning to wrap her head around people never talking about fal'Cie as an adult, but while she's still in the mindset of such a sheltered kid...? Everything she accepts as true is basically being thrown out the window and that is not a fun state of mind to be in. She puts her hands over her face so she won't have to see Aerith looking at her any more. ]

The fal'Cie... they take care of us. Take care of Cocoon.

[Aerith puts a hand on Claire's upper arm, trying to be calming in at least some way... but she doesn't know anything she can say to reassure her.]

Claire... don't think about it too much. This will make more sense soon.

[ Yeah, that really only makes it worse; she compresses a little, not even trying to fight tears. It's not really Aerith's fault though... this has very likely been building for a bit by now. ]

I know. I know... [Words aren't nearly enough; with barely a thought, Aerith steps forward again, closing the distance and lifting her arms to hug Claire. She's been missing her own mother since she realized her death.] You're still going to see them. It'll be okay.
