[Here is a fully bundled Aerith, blue scarf wrapped loosely around her face as she smiles.]

Speed run! Don't try this at home. I'm a professional.

...Not really. But I've been practicing, and I think I'm getting better!

[This is about all the introduction given before the journal gets set down to show wide open sky, but once Aerith throws herself in its direction and sets things into a blur of motion, it quickly becomes apparent what she's doing: enjoying her toboggan present from Christmas. She seems to be quite childishly pleased with herself on the faster runs, and pouts when one bumpy ride ends only halfway down. Finally:]

All right, now for the obstacle course! [Tucking the journal under-arm, Aerith drags the toboggan ba-a-a-ck up. This time she turns it to a different position a few feet away and a very different angle. She starts out more slowly, letting gravity lead the way, and steers the tobaggan around trees and rocks, her expression turning focused as the wind whips back her hair. And then--] Oh, no, no! Move, rabbit, run! Hey--ah--!!!! [After wildly veering, once she hits a fallen tree, Aerith and journal are airborne. Too bad they have to come back down, but at least it's in a snowdrift, right?]

...Mmmf.

[...FEEL FREE TO ACTION IT UP / BE SLEDDING WITH HER? She's on the lower part of the mountain slope, closest to the village. Or just shake your head at her from afar, whatever.]

[Now, Jack, all you have to do is pretend to be a classier act than you really are. Not so hard, right?]

I've always been an explorer. I've been all over the world, in fact. [Several worlds in fact.] Of course, you can't get to any of them here, but you can always read about them. And if you find somewhere that sounds interesting, there's a good chance I may have been there.

A great explorer? Sounds like an exciting life. But there are so many worlds... are you sure about those chances?

I've been to more worlds than I can keep track of.

Oh, but you should keep track of them! I'd think each one is important.

How do you travel between worlds, anyway? [She's leaning in a little; she is curious.]

[Leaning is good. He has her attention now, after all.]

Portals. All worlds are connected by them, linking one world to another. They're not all obvious and hard to find, but you can really get around once you know where they are. Most of the time, they're kept secret. But sometimes... [With a swish of his hand, he pulls a Jack of Spades out of 'thin air.] some things just slip through.

[All worlds... she has to wonder about that when she hasn't heard of anything like that from the Planet. But there are certainly secrets she still doesn't know.

--And then her thoughtfulness is jarred by the sudden appearance of the Jack, prompting a small snort and a smile. They've gone from world-hopping to parlor tricks, have they?]

Slip through with slick fingers.

[The card disappears just as abruptly. It's less parlor trick and more of an indication at how much of a card shark he is.]

Exactly. There's nothing like traveling to a new world. It's a fresh new start, you can call yourself whatever you want. Unless you're famous enough for your stories to reach other worlds before you do. [Which had happened on occasion. Sometimes favorably. Other times... not so much.]

Can't say I've heard any stories about a Jack Horner before.

[Hmmm...] What world are you from?

My Planet's name is Gaia. The biggest city is Midgar.

Not the mundy world. That would explain things.

Mundy world sounds like an awfully strange name. So that's where you're best known? Well... maybe I'll hear about you one day. [Her smile increases a little bit, teasing.] You'll have to do something really incredible though.

Doing the incredible is my dayjob. [A pause.] You could look me up in the library, later.

I'll be really disappointed if I don't find you, now. [Or you know. Just laugh and shake her head.]

If you can't, give me a call. I'll make sure you find it. [Seeing as how he plans to find all the stories about him and steal them... only returning the ones he finds flattering to him.]

If you say so. But what'll you do now? Your snowboard... [... Did that manage to survive at all.]

[He glances over where part of it is sticking out of the ground. Nope, it's not quite as durable as Jack is.]

I don't think it's gonna make it. Which means I'll have to pack it in and head home.

Too bad. Be careful going back--no more accidents! You'll scare people. [And it'll hurt for you. But it'll also scare people. 8(]

Maybe you should stick around, make sure I get back in one piece. [And then when they get to the village, well, who knows?]

Never knew legends needed babysitters, Jack. Sorry, but I was planning to stay out a bit longer.
