[Here is a fully bundled Aerith, blue scarf wrapped loosely around her face as she smiles.]

...Not really. But I've been practicing, and I think I'm getting better!

[This is about all the introduction given before the journal gets set down to show wide open sky, but once Aerith throws herself in its direction and sets things into a blur of motion, it quickly becomes apparent what she's doing: enjoying her toboggan present from Christmas. She seems to be quite childishly pleased with herself on the faster runs, and pouts when one bumpy ride ends only halfway down. Finally:]

All right, now for the obstacle course! [Tucking the journal under-arm, Aerith drags the toboggan ba-a-a-ck up. This time she turns it to a different position a few feet away and a very different angle. She starts out more slowly, letting gravity lead the way, and steers the tobaggan around trees and rocks, her expression turning focused as the wind whips back her hair. And then--] Oh, no, no! Move, rabbit, run! Hey--ah--!!!! [After wildly veering, once she hits a fallen tree, Aerith and journal are airborne. Too bad they have to come back down, but at least it's in a snowdrift, right?]

...Mmmf.

[...FEEL FREE TO ACTION IT UP / BE SLEDDING WITH HER? She's on the lower part of the mountain slope, closest to the village. Or just shake your head at her from afar, whatever.]

[ Faize stands a little ways off, where he knows he won't be crashed into by a stranger on a sled. His eyes are curious, and yet he shows apprehension, an unwillingness to approach her just yet. ]

[Said stranger is looking a mite grouchy as she swipes snow off her head, but she pauses at seeing Faize and his curious gaze.] Hello?

What are you doing? [ He approaches, holding out a hand to help the stranger up. ]

Sledding. Trying to, at least. [She takes his hand, carefully standing up in the snow.] Thanks. What are you doing out here?

[ Faize smiles cheerfully. ] I'm just exploring. I haven't had much of a chance to do so yet, and I am still new to this world.

I should do some more exploring myself... this is about as far as I've been. I'm Aerith. What's your name?

My name is Faize Sheifa Beleth. Are you a New Feather, as well, Aerith?

No, I'm not. I've been here for two months now. I just... haven't had much reason to leave the village. But it's nice to meet you, Mister Faize.

Please, feel no need to call me Mister anything. Faize would be just fine. [ He nods, his smile brightening. ]

Okay, Faize. How's your exploration going? [While she asks, she heads over to the toboggan, looking it over on both sides to make sure it didn't get smashed up from that little...flipout.]

Better, now that my wings have stopped aching. [ Faize flexes his new wings experimentally as he leans over to look at the toboggan. ] Is it...alright?

They do start out sore, I noticed that the first few days. Sensitive, too. But you get used to it. And...yep! [She nods, setting it down and holding it by the rope on the front.] They gave me a sturdy one.

They?

Sorry, that's right--the Malnosso. They gave gifts for a holiday at the end of December. Pretty odd, but I can't complain.

And this was from them? [ Faize has never seen something like this before, and it shows in his eyes as he looks over the sled and then up at the hill. ]

You don't think they'd bother with fun things like sleds, but they do... they really make it seem almost like a normal village here.

It's familiar. Very much like Lemuris, really.

Well, yes and no. It's where I live.

So you moved there. [Though, considering his expression...] Is it hard moving somewhere new? I've only ever lived in one city--and I wouldn't consider this place a normal relocation.

It is somewhat hard, but I don't know if it would be that way for everyone. Life was hard where we used to live. I imagine things will be more pleasant now.
